I recently had a week's vacation, where I took the time to do an hour or two a day of The Bubble Collective missions. This pushed the faction up by more than 10%, which is a great thing. But I took two days off as an experiment, and it made me realize I am the only one doing anything for The Bubble Collective. We lost 5%, while Union of Lidpar Green Party jumped up by 10%.

So this is a wake-up call for anyone in this club: CONTRIBUTE OR BE PURGED. These guidelines apply to be a contributor:

  • ONLY do missions for The Bubble Collective, unless specified otherwise.
  • MAXIMIZE mission contribution towards influence (e.g. only do missions that give a minimum of Medium influence increase)
  • DO NOT turn in exploration data at any station in Lidpar. This will only benefit the other factions.
  • DO NOT turn in bounties that were issues by any faction other than The Bubble Collective.

Do not come with the argument that the missions don't pay good credits. You can easily make around 5 million cr in 2 hours or less if you are allied with The Bubble Collective. Some missions to look out for:

  • PASSENGER MISSIONS: These give a great amount of credits in a small time frame. The best passenger missions are the tourist, aid worker, business person, ... transport missions, which give large influence increase and credits. But the biggest advantage to those, is that you can stack them.
  • PLANETARY SCAN JOB: Basically tech support in space. Got to a planet, use your SRV to scan a data point, and fly back to Carlisle Station.
  • COMBAT MISSION: Especially the "Massacre the <insert faction> pirates" missions. They give great rewards, and have an added bonus that you can bring in bounties (these bounties have to be brought into a station of the mission's system usually). They are fun if you are into combat.

The most important thing, however, is that you think efficient. An example: There are 3 missions available, one giving a large influence increase with a reward of 2m cr, where you have to drop off someone/something on a planet's surface, and the two others that give only 200k cr each (large influence increase), but are stackable and you don't have to go onto a planet's surface. Which mission(s) do you pick? Yes, the two others. They save you time (don't have to land on a planet) and are stackable, so you don't have to go back to Carlisle Station every time you finish one mission. I admit that I am not always as efficient, so that I can have a bit of fun too, but the majority of my time is geared towards efficiency. In the long run you will benefit from this efficiency.

CMDR J Kelly - The guideline above is pretty much what I stick to, but haven't been on in about 2 weeks.  Last time on, I spent about 3 hours doing missions and pushed up influence about 2%, wasn't much, but the missions at the time were sparse.  

Also, if you get a mission a bit out, I grab another mission that brings me back to or around Lidpar so it doesn't feel like you're coming back empty.  It's outside our system and doesn't effect our influence, but you have to grab one that doesn't involve going back to that station to get paid.  I agree, passenger missions probably pay the best and usually has a decent influence gain so you don't have to worry about getting murdered and paying insurance.

As far as engineers going anywhere - I doubt that will ever happen.  They do, however, have some good stuff coming down the pipeline with new things and a restructure of how the game will be played.
