Ok, server is up. Connection info is at the bottom of the post above. We still have a few things to work out here and there, but it's playable. Clothing stream will be available most likely tomorrow so you should have more clothing options tomorrow if you decide to hop on today.

Hello everyone,

 

SoE is back online but not in the way you remember. Same community, same name, different framework. We went with QBcore as the framework since it's packed with features and takes very little dev time in the sense of adding features and things like that. Also, there are a bunch of scripts and features that are made by the FiveM community that are designed for the framework. There's a lot to cover but please read this post in it's entirety before getting onto our server for the first time.

 

Those who were around at the beginning of SoE or within it's first ~2 years, you know we ran a tight ship. Your level of RP couldn't just be rinse and repeat bank robber and we banned people for things quickly. We didn't tolerate toxic players, trolls, and players that couldn't follow a simple set of rules. Also, we had a smaller and more tight nit community where everyone knew each other, could talk to each other and not argue, and filled roles if needed.  If there were too many cops, they'd go civ or work a tow truck. That's what I want this time to be again. Old school SoE, not what it ended on. A lot of players loved how it was ran because their game time wasn't ruined by trolls and getting mugged 6 times in the same hour by the same person. I personally miss the old SoE and the community members that were here for the community, not for their self or what their Twitch audience wanted them to play on. I'm not looking for hundreds of people waiting in queue to get on our server and I'm surely not looking for the drama and bickering that plagued SoE at the end. I'm not looking to have a large admin team, mod team, dev team, pr team, and whatever else. If you're looking for cops and robbers or GTA Online gameplay, please find it somewhere else. 

 

Some features:

 

• QBcore already has test drives, dealerships, repair location, robberies, and a lot more built in. There are numerous ways, as a civ, to begin building up your bank account. Then, you can move on to own a business, start a gang, and more.
• Player owned businesses - Player will be able to own and do things like vehicle importer, own a dealership, run a mod shop, start a logistics company, and more. Each business has a business account so the work your employees do go into the business, they get paid a paycheck by you based on their rank within the business. There's an option that is referred to as your eyeball or third eye, this is used in certain situations. Example, look at your car door, hold left-alt, and you see an eye icon. If it turns blue, right click and you'll see options pertaining to what you're doing.
• Own your own residence - You start with an apartment. We can set any property on the map for sale in game. This is an admin thing, but you won't have to wait for coding or anything like that. Heck, you might some for sale that you're interested in. If not, we'll have a way to contact a real estate agent. 
• Emergency Services budget. For example, the police, medical (EMS/Doctors), SAFR - all have a budget for buying their cars. Repairs also get charged to this budget. The heads of the department are responsible for supplying vehicles for their employees. This means, for another example, the LSPD Chief needs to have enough cars for his officers. If he has 10 officers, he'll need at least 10 cars if everyone is online at one time. Since he is sharing the budget with the other law enforcement agencies, he won't get approval for 20 brand new chargers. This budget is effected by writing tickets and issuing fines with jail time. Medical comes from patients.
• Gangs - there is a gang system that requires a little bit of setup on the admin end. But, once you're setup, you can manage your garage, stash box, recruit and add others, etc.
• Licenses - there is a drivers license, weapons license, and we'll be expanding that onto obtaining your CDL stamp and obtaining a pilots license. You have to have the proper license on you before you can buy certain items. Want a gun, you're going to have to visit your local police station and have someone in the department with the authority to issue you one. Can't stop running red lights, your license could get revoked by an officer and you'll have to go through the process of getting another one again.
• Complex vehicle damage - crash your car hard enough and you won't get too far. Your car will start acting up and you'll be calling a tow truck. Engine damaged? Drive slow, the faster you go the quicker the damage gains on your car after the engine has began to fail. It makes for interesting pursuits to say the least. I have a feeling tow and mod shops could be busy! Also, your seatbelt isn't going to save you going the speed of sound, so you may have to equip a racing harness. Hint - those harnesses don't come off as fast as a seatbelt does.
• Numerous system jobs to do to help build your bank account. Visit town hall and see the NPC there to get a job and see what you can do. Jobs like towing, you can produce system tow missions to make money and, of course, get paid by emergency services for your service.
• Spend your hard earned money at the casino and play games like blackjack, roulette, horse betting. Or buy yourself a fancy boat or nice car. it's your money after all.
• SAFR - we have a fire script that will produce fires to respond to. It produces enough smoke and flames that civs will probably gather around after contacting 911. Not only that, we have a great fleet of vehicles along with a working hose system. The hose system has different modes to put out different fire types. Up arrow will go through the modes. And yes, you'll have to hook up to a hydrant and make sure your truck is topped off with water. If there isn't a hydrant, hopefully you can put out the fire with the water that is in the truck.
• Stuck in the big house? Yeah, you may find yourself in prison. You can work off some of your time by doing jobs around the prison. You could also have a friend come visit you in the visitors area and talk to them through the glass. When it's time to get out, go see the guard in the prison cells building.

 

There's a lot more to do and a lot I haven't even gotten around to looking at myself yet. The best way to see it is get on and experience it yourself. The above is a not a complete list of features and things to do and we'll be adding stuff along the way. Anyone that joins early will be learning along with the rest of us. We expect our server to be up later today or tomorrow. Depending on the population, I will also be looking for people to fill the roles within the emergency services.

Before joining, I highly suggest you read and understand the rules before joining the server. If you have a question about a rule, please PM me and ask about it before you do something to get yourself banned.
